Skagit PICKS Program
“Having our son pick out his own “special things” (fruits & veggies) at the market has been so great. He has tried several new things that he picked out on his own. Our budget is really tight so it has been such a blessing to have access to the market. PLEASE continue this program! Our kids really need this.”
In 2017 Food From Farms, a Skagit County-based non-profit, piloted a new fruit and vegetable incentive program to patients at Skagit Pediatrics. The new program called Skagit PICKS (Pediatric Incentive: Connecting Kids with Seasonal selections) gives children receiving Medicaid up to $90 in free fruits and vegetables at four local farmers markets.
